Quick Description: A marker remembering the first route of commerce in Nevada.
Signed: Yes -- Signed on both lanes of SR 159. As a nice addition, NDOT erected an arrow pointing the way to the new marker's location!

NOTES: In spite of my listed directions, this marker is incredibly tricky to find! The streets of Blue Diamond remind me of a spider's web, woven together in a tightly knit circle. Our marker is right in the center of that web. Fortunately, Blue Diamond isn't very big so if you can't find #33 for some reason, ask a few locals and they'll direct you to the "Village." The Mercantile is also the Sheriff's Department and the only gas station in town.

    Full Description:
    Exact description as reads ...

Stretching for 130 miles across Clark County, this historic horse trail became Nevada's first route of commerce in 1829 when trade was initiated between Santa Fe and Los Angeles. The trail was later used by the wagons of the "49ers" and Mormon pioneers. Concrete posts marking the trail were erected in 1965.

Nice to see "Classic" plaques still alive and kickin'.

Here is the center of Blue Diamond, one of the more interesting towns I've visited in Nevada. As for parking, please avoid using the park across the street, posted liberally with "Private Property" signs!
